Stories This and That Next Story

4th of July 2005

(Created July 4, 2005)

(Starring Rian Joy, Mommy, Daddy, Cousin Christian, and Cousin Jordan)

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,

It was a day like any other day.  Cousin Jordan, Cousin Christian and I were playing in the living room.

We interrupt this story to bring you an important NEWS story!

Today, at a local swimming pool Rian Joy Gibson has been crowned a hero! Let's go to our on the scene reporter with the story!  Daddy tell them what happened!

Well, Rian it was a hot summer afternoon peaking at 106 degrees.  At a local swimming pool in Midland, Texas, Lifeguard Rian Joy was manning her post.

She could see some cute kids having a lot of fun in the deep end of the pool.  They were doing alright, but Rian kept a mindful eye on their activities.

Then all of the sudden trouble arose.  Cousin Christian and Cousin Jordan were going down!

Rian jumped from her lifeguard stand, grabbed a floatation device, and started paddling toward her cousins.

She had to hurry, things were getting worse.

Rian was NOT going to let anything happen to her cousins so she paddled faster.

She arrived just in time.  And pulled her cousins unto the life raft!

Rian told everyone to kick so they could push the raft to dry land.

Once the three Cousins made it to dry land, Cousin Jordan and Cousin Christian thanked Rian for her bravery and courage.

Later that night Cousin Jordan and Cousin Christian thought they could reward Rian by teaching her about Fireworks and the 4th of July!  First, they gave Rian her very first sparkler.

She did not know what to think at first, but Rian started to like it toward the end!

Cousin Jordan showed Rian a jungle dance with her sparklers!  It was so funny!

Cousin Christian showed Rian the hot foot dance and that was funny also!

Then they both went crazy with the sparklers and we had so much fun!

But Grandma and Grandpa I had no idea what fireworks were and I could not wait to find out!  Daddy and I looked at the sky, and that is when it happened.

Little flashes of light shot up from the ground!

And one by one they exploded in the sky!  I had to point them out to Daddy (because he is a little slow, ya know!)

Some were fancy!

And some were full of color!

The 4th of July is so cool.  I sure enjoyed this holiday with my Cousin Christian and Cousin Jordan.  I love you all and see you next time!
